The automotive industry is in a state of flux, driven by technological advances and increasingly stringent environmental regulations. Between the rise of electric vehicles and the imminent ban on the sale of combustion engines from 2035, we are at a decisive turning point.
It’s against this backdrop that we’re wondering about the future of our products, especially those used exclusively on combustion-powered vehicles. If you’re familiar with our product ranges, then you’ve guessed that our ignition products are in the firing line!
And yet… if we look at one of the latest studies carried out by the FIEV (December 2023), by 2030 there will be more petrol vehicles than today. This can be explained by the drastic drop in sales of diesel vehicles (which will represent barely 3% of new vehicle sales in 2030), but also by the uncertainty of consumers who no longer know which way to turn. So while some will prefer to renew their vehicle (gasoline, hybrid or electric), others will choose to maintain their current vehicle in order to extend its lifespan.
Ultimately, this revolution in the automotive industry has its advantages and disadvantages. With the number of gasoline-powered vehicles expected to rise by around 5 million by 2030, it’s essential for our teams to continue launching new ignition coil references. Always with the same objective: to meet market demand as closely as possible.
